Therapy in New York City
Providing a supportive environment to challenge habits and develop new tools for a more meaningful life.
Everyone has unconscious habits and patterns. When we engage in therapy, we learn what those patterns are and, more importantly, how we view the challenges that those patterns create. These appear in many areas of our lives: Relationships. Careers. Family dynamics. Anywhere you feel a sense of feeling stuck, shame, or frustration.
Working with a therapist helps you become more curious about your patterns and allows you to explore them — as well as events from your past that have had an effect on where you are now. Together, we will develop powerful tools and strategies to create positive, long-lasting change where you feel connection and meaning without shame, fear, or judgment. Within the confines of a safe therapeutic relationship, you will find strength, courage and begin to experience change.
This way, you will not only feel better — you will live better.
More About Jackie
I’m a licensed psychodynamic psychotherapist who primarily treats emerging adults through adulthood. My methods of psychodynamic psychotherapy also incorporate modalities such as CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and Relational therapy.
Our therapy sessions are a safe space for you to feel seen, heard and understood. As we build our therapeutic relationship, we establish trust, and examine your past and current relationships, as a way of understanding the root of what is causing pain, stress and “stuckness” in your life.
I have been working with patients for over 20 years and specialize in trauma, depression, anxiety, life transitions (specifically college/post college), parenting and women’s issues (including fertility and menopause), and LGBTQIA+ issues. I also provide clinical supervision for private practitioners and social workers in non-profit organizations.
